The Museum exhibitions present a complex picture of life in this region over the millennia, starting from the appearance of the first humans in the Ice Age and up to the present day. The exhibited fossil remains of long-extinct animal species discovered in Risovača cave introduce us to the lush fauna of the last ice age. The impressive skeleton of a cave bear with a height of about 3.5 meters has been certainly attracting a great deal of attention from visitors.

The archaeological findings bear witness to the life and culture of ancient human communities in this region from prehistoric times through the Roman era to the Middle Ages.

The history of modern warfare is illustrated with weapons and military equipment, documents and photographs from the two world wars in the 20th century.

The ethnographic artifacts revive the traditional lifestyle and customs of the Šumadija village before the audience, being a reminder of the town’s life and forgotten crafts such as opanky makers, furriers, weavers, tailors.

The exhibition of contemporary ceramic art introduces visitors to a world that speaks of art in clay and sparks imagination using shapes and colors. The exhibited items comprise a unique collection created at the Svet keramike (World of Ceramics) festival as part of the Mermer i zvuci (Marble and Sounds) Art Festival. The authors are artists from all over the world who have been creating their works in our town every summer for five decades.
